In an attack on Bayern Munich, Robert Lewandowski claims they lied about the reason he left for Barcelona this summer.

After months of rumors about his future, the highly-publicized transfer of the Poland international to Barça was made. He joined players like Raphinha and Jules Kounde as one of the club's significant acquisitions this summer.

Lewandowski opened out about leaving Bayern and debunked claims that he was forced to go because Bayern was interested in Erling Haaland in an interview with ESPN.

He insisted, "No, that has nothing to do with Erling. "Even if something is bad for me, the truth is more essential to me than my own interests. I don't want to talk about the specifics of what occurred. I didn't see an issue if he joined Bayern Munich, but if the question is whether the choice to go was because of him, the answer is no.

"However, some individuals don't tell me the truth and instead tell me something else.

In the end, I know that something doesn't work well with my person as well, and I knew that, OK I see, and I feel that maybe it's a good time to move out of Bayern Munich and join Barcelona. "And for me it was always important to be clear, to stay true, and maybe for a few people that was the problem.

"I had wonderful relationships with my teammates, the staff, and the coach, all of which I'll miss because I had such a wonderful experience there. Additionally, we were more than just the pitch's pals. But in the end, this chapter comes to an end, and I begin a new chapter in both my life and my profession.
